DETAILS
Spring Break Writing Camp is a fun, interactive workshop designed for young teens between the ages of 13 and 16. The camp meets for three days during spring break, for three hours each day, and offers an engaging introduction to multiple creative writing forms, including poetry, flash fiction, haiku, and fan fiction. Daily sessions begin with reading and discussing examples of the genre we are exploring. These mentor texts serve as inspiration and a springboard for students’ own writing. Participants will then write, share their work, and practice offering thoughtful feedback that highlights both strengths and opportunities for growth. The camp emphasizes collaboration, creativity, and confidence-building. Together, we create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free workshop environment where students are encouraged to express themselves, take creative risks, and grow as writers. Each day includes a half-hour lunch break. Students will bring a sack lunch, and drinks and snacks will be provided.
