DETAILS
The first session, The Big Picture, focuses on helping writers identify why they wrote their work and what they want readers to take away from it. This clarified intention becomes the guiding principle for the entire revision process. Activities include developing concise “elevator pitches” for the work and identifying the ideal reader or target audience. This workshop has been taught successfully many times, most often in three sessions over a day and a half at writers’ conferences. Spreading it out over three weeks is expected to be even more effective, giving participants time to reflect on concepts and apply them to their own work.
